2006年にアートセンター・カレッジ・オブ・デザインで学士号を、2009年にクレアモント大学院大学で修士号を取得。
韓国、イタリア、ロンドン、アムステルダム、クラクフ、リヒテンシュタイン、日本、全米で展覧会を行う。

最近では、Red Bull Arts DetroitとカンボジアのSmiling Geckoに、アーティストインレジデンスで滞在し制作活動を行った。
STEVE KIMは、L.A.で活動するアーティストです。
15年以上のキャリアを持ち、RED BULLをはじめ、彼を支持する企業から継続的な支援を受けています。
L.A.では、NOHWAVE (https://nohwave.co/) に所属しています。アーティストによるコレクティブコミュニティーです。彼のことを知らないL.A.在住アーティストは少なく、高い知名度を誇っています。研ぎ澄まされた繊細な線と構図は、国内外で高く評価されています。
紙とデジタルを交互に行き交う作風はメディアの境界を曖昧にします。イラストレーションとデジタル、映像を組み合わせ、人物画を中心に描いてきました。
素描した作品をPCに取り込み、Photoshopや映像編集ソフトで加工。それを紙に出力し、ドローイングを重ね、PCでデジタル加工処理を実施します。
同モチーフの作品が半永続的に生成され続けます。コレクターが作品を購入するまで、その展開は終わりません。このプロセスは、エディションによる希少性や原画そのものの価値を不確実なものとし、モチーフを純粋に描き続けることで、対象と関係性、自身の創作に対する情熱・愛情を表出させます。
一方、コンセプトを初期段階で設定するものの、様式にとらわれることはありません。常に身近な人をモデルに起用し、ありのままの姿を表現しようとする姿勢は、長いキャリアを経てもなお変わることはありません。見えたまま/見えていないさまを、メディアミックスする独自の技法で人物画にあぶり出します。
日本で初の展示会です。この機会をお見逃しないよう皆さまのご来場を心よりお待ちしています。
5月は14日以降、毎週末12:00-18:00のオープンです。事前予約の必要はありません。
次回の深夜帯の営業は、6月です。皆様のお越しを心よりお待ちしています。
ROUND MIDNIGHT GALLERY is located in the Daimyo district of Tenjin, Fukuoka City.It is a 15-minute train ride from Fukuoka Airport and Hakata Station. It is conveniently located a 5-minute walk from Tenjin Station. Each person has his/her own way of dealing with art works.It is possible to freely create, distribute, and connect with artwork as you wish. New market environments continue to be developed through SNS, NFT, and Metaverse. The joy of actually visiting a venue and being face to face with a work of art in a space has not changed.The joy of doing so has not changed. With our daily lives changing so drastically, we often find ourselves away from home.Work, housework, and childcare are all during the day, making it impossible to casually visit artworks.The museum closes early and we tend to miss opportunities. I want to see artworks to my heart's content, at my own pace, without worrying about my surroundings.I just want to be alone and relax. ROUND MIDNIGHT GALLERY is just for you.The ROUND MIDNIGHT GALLERY is a gallery open day and night, just for you. We provide an environment where you can experience art alone.We are sincerely looking forward to your visit.
